More About the Vendor:
Imagine you and your beloved looking at the stars above from a private hot tub. Then go back into our romantic, charming adobe house, get dressed and walk to one of the great restaurants nearby. Leave your car at Casa Montoya because you're just three blocks from the Historic Taos Plaza.
If you love to cook, yoi can make a meal together in our large kitchen, furnished with a dishwasher, blender, toaster oven, coffee maker (of course), slow cooker and other gadgets, and a new refrigerator/freezer. You can eat dinner ininside or outside on the brick patio (the gas BBQ on the patio is easy to use), and reserve the kitchen dining table for enjoying your breakfast by the window in the morning. By the way, Taos tap water tastes unpleasant, so be sure to use the water filter on the kitchen faucet for pure drinking water.
If it's chilly, make a fire in the Kiva fireplace (firewood and kindling supplied) in the living room, and listen to music on our stereo. There's even a TV with TiVo so you can record your favorite programs for viewing another day.
The one bedroom has a huge king bed which many of our previous guests have raved about - it's so comfortable. The one bathroom has a shower and tub, with a Mexican tile and a hand-painted sink.
Got laundry? There's a washer and dryer in its own room. In the hallway closet there's a yoga mat and 8 & 10 lb. weights, an iron and ironing board, and the bedroom closet has a humidifier.
Taos Mountain (18 miles away and considered sacred by Taosenos) is a world-class ski resort, but if visit during the summer, turn on the air conditioner in the hallway if it's too warm. Of course linens and towels are supplied and don't go grocery shopping until you check the fridge and kitchen cupboards. An award-winning designer from Paris chose our high-end furniture and it's a great blend of old country charm and sophisticated comfortable furnishings. The sofabed in the living room sleeps two, but you may prefer to have the house to yourselves.
There's a small casita in the back of the property and sometimes we have guests stay there, but the neighborhood is usually quiet, and if there are guests in the casita, they're usually quiet too.
Taos has a rich history and cultural heritage, with numerous galleries, museums and festivals you can walk to. Want to just play day and night but your work demands your attention? We have DSL and wifi connections.
Your dog is welcome, but there is a pet fee. And please remember: this is a non-smoking rental.
So far, only fabulous people have been drawn to Casa Montoya. We hope you, too, will choose to stay with us.
