Periodically we’ll feature one of our vendors here to let our readers know about some great people who can help you plan the perfect wedding.
I am a San Diego-based and destination wedding photographer. I’ve been a professional photographer and a proud member of San Diego’s gay community for over two decades, qualities that give me a unique insider’s perspective.
As you can see from the images on my website, my personal style of photography definitely leans more towards documentary photography and photojournalism. That is, storytelling. Every couple I photograph has their own story. My craft, and the passion I bring to it, is capturing images that tell your unique story. Images that you will treasure more and more as time goes on, and that will convey your story to the people who view them in the future.
From a technical perspective, I prefer using natural light whenever possible, but have the ability and the equipment to do anything from fill flash to full on studio lighting. Although I have honed my post-production skills over many years, my focus remains on doing things right on the front end so that post-production is a process where already great images are enhanced.
Whether your San Diego wedding is a small, intimate gathering at the county clerk’s office or on a beach, an event with several hundred of your nearest and dearest in attendance, or something in between, my goal is to capture those incredible moments shared with loved ones in images you’ll treasure for the rest of your lives. Having grown up in the South, I like to think I have a pretty good understanding of social graces. That said, I am not at all shy about actively seeking out images that capture moments as they happen.
I’ve found that the very best way to get great images is to establish a rapport and comfort level with the people I’m photographing. When my subjects are relaxed and at ease, it comes through in the images we create together.
Just as the foundation of a great image is an implicit sense of trust between the photographer and the subject, hiring the person who will photograph your wedding is an act of trust. In my experience, the best way to figure out if I’m the right photographer for you is for us to begin a conversation with one another. If you like the kinds of things you see on my website, give me a call and let’s talk about your San Diego wedding day.
