As a gay couple together since 1992, we believe that marriage and all the responsibilities and benefits that come with it should be available to committed gay and lesbian couples everywhere. So we created Purple Unions, a place where gay and lesbian couples can find gay friendly wedding vendors to help them plan their perfect wedding day.
Brazil currently does not allow or recognize marriages between gay and lesbian couples, but it does recognize valid unions of gay and lesbian couples from other jurisdictions for immigration purposes. As of May, 2011, Brazil also offers civil unions, after the Supreme Court found in favor of the plantiffs. Brazil also allows adoption by gay and lesbian couples. Some individual states in Brazil do recognize marriage equality.
