Don't settle for boring straight wedding photography. (pun intended :-)

I've been shooting events for over twenty years, but like most other photographers no doubt, same sex weddings have always been a relatively small part of my business. It certainly hasn't been for lack of interest on my part.

As a gay male and photographer in New York City, I'm absolutely thrilled about the legalization of gay marriage in New York, and look forward to photographing lots of NY same sex weddings for couples who have been waiting a long time for this to come about.

I work very closely with couples before the wedding to get a feel for your personalities, style, what kind of wedding you're having, and any special requests. My approach is never one size fits all or cookie cutter.

I will document your day with a combination photojournalistic and editorial style approach. First and foremost I excel at candids, telling a story with exuberant spontaneous shots capturing the fun, joy, excitement, tender moments, and all the other mix of emotions which are part of getting married.

I work quickly and quietly, in the most unobtrusive manner possible. Clients often tell me after they see the pictures I seem to have been everywhere, and yet they hardly knew I was there. That's the photojournalist in me.

The reality is that some shots do need to be staged and directed, at least to a degree. That's the editorial approach. I am much more into relaxed, natural portraits than anything overly formal.

An editorial photographer tells a story with pictures, just as a photojournalist does. The difference is that with my editorial eye I may direct you to capture the best light or a more attractive background, for instance.

This is kept to a minimum, and is primarily for portraits and family shots. I strongly prefer to capture fleeting moments than do a lot of posing. I want you and your guests above all to be relaxed and have fun. My pictures are a reflection of that.

I am available for lesbian and gay weddings as well as portrait assignments and all other manner of events and celebrations in the New York Metro area as well as nationwide. I'm also available for destination weddings and events worldwide.

My clients receive high resolution, full file size images on disc, with full rights to the images. Prints and albums are optional. I will tailor a package to suit your needs. Online proofing and print ordering is also included if desired.
