Congratulations future newlyweds!

I am Rev. Starlene Joyner Burns, a court authorized marriage celebrant, ordained minister, and wedding officiant. In 2004, I was inspired to serve those of all faiths and all cultures. So I founded The Chapel of Love Ceremonies in 2004, then SJB Ministries LLC in 2006. I serve as the executive director and senior officiant.

My experience has shown me that many couples today, seek a celebrant who respects their beliefs, relationships, and values. And my training has taught me to embrace cultural and spiritual diversity openly, lovingly, and unconditionally.

As a licensed minister, I am authorized to perform weddings and other rites of passage. I received additional authorization from the Superior Court of Washington DC and New York, for the solemnization of same sex marriages.

And today, I am grateful to all Marylanders who fought hard and voted to bring marriage equality here. During the days of campaigning, lobbying, phone banking, and voting; I got to work alongside many clergy who wanted to see all people treated equally under the law.

Now I am ready to serve unconditionally and openly all people. So travelling to your ceremony site is not a problem. A site can be a garden, park, banquet hall, country club, ballroom, hotel, mansion, restaurant, cruise ship, yacht, etc. No matter where you hold your ceremony (waterfront or land); I'll be there.

Letting me know where, when, and how to get there; puts me at the right place at the right time.

And if you don't have a location and don't mind getting married in DC, I have a chapel there (DC marriage license required).

The last thing I want to share with you is, I love my job, and I enjoy officiating same sex marriages. Working with our gay and lesbian people has been a tremendous blessing.Embracing Love Always,
