Welcome to Ceremonies and Celebrations, with Irene Kane, Officiant. Whether you are marrying your partner of many years or are newly committed, your ceremony will be heartfelt, joyous and uniquely yours.

As a Deputy Marriage Commissioner at San Francisco City Hall, I had the privilege of participating in the same sex weddings of February 2004. I will always remember the excitement and high energy which transformed the rotunda and surrounding offices. People from all over the world sent notes of congratulations, corsages, boutonnieres and tiered wedding cakes for couples and their families to enjoy.

While I will participate as needed at City Hall, I am authorized to marry couples as a non-denominational minister. I help you select a picturesque location in one of our many parks or areas with well-known backdrops. Alternately I can come to your hotel suite or suggest a restaurant to have a private ceremony for you and your guests. Having lived in San Francisco for over 30 years I know some famous and lesser known sights to make your wedding memorable.

With many years experience as a wedding photographer prior to my ministry, I can add a photo portrait session to capture and record your extraordinary day.

Together we'll create a civil, spiritual or non-denominational religious event, adding poetic readings or simple rituals, giving your wedding a distinctive personal touch. I provide choices in the wording of your ceremonies so the sentiment really speaks for you.

I plan with you in advance via email, phone or in person if you are local. Your ceremony can be a grand affair with many guests, a gathering of your closest family and friends or an intimate celebration with just the two of you.
