Our History

In the Heart of Dupont Circle, the Beacon Hotel & Corporate Quarters (originally known as the Governor's House) has for decades been a choice social center for the Gay Community in Washington. The Beacon has always been a place that welcomes and celebrates diversity, a place where all walks of life co-mingle and where hospitality is absolute. Service is always provided with distinction and style, backed by qualitative amenities and distinct accommodations.

Our services

The Beacon Hotel & Corporate Quarters features distinctive banquet facilities with contemporary and elegant flair for events from ten to two hundred and fifty people. Three function ballrooms, a roof-top penthouse and private patios will allow for events ranging from elegant and or whimsical Unions to celebratory receptions, or even product launches. Most function rooms have exterior views and natural light.

The Beacon Hotel has been the host of many social events ranging from holiday parties to the launching of website celebrations in its private dining rooms and the famous Beacon Bar & Grill.

Our Kitchen

The Beacon Hotel's culinary team's talent and creativity is very broad in scope and creativity allowing us to make yours a truly memorable event. Our expert catering team will guide and work with you from concept to reality. Our Beacon Bar & Grill features a tremendously varied menu to suit the needs of those that have a love of food to those who are healthy conscious. Our famous and indulgent Sunday Champagne Brunch, features unlimited Champagne, mimosas and bloody Mary's, featured as one of the "Seven Deadly Sinn" of Washington DC, and highly recommended in the "Washington Post". In 2008 the Beacon Bar & Grill was rated as having the "Best Brunch" in DC, by the Washington Blade and subscribers to Open Table have bestowed us with the same honor.

Our Location

Perfect! Convenient central location in Dupont Circle, the epicenter of Washington DC; provides walking access not only to the nightlife but to culture, National Mall, Museums, attractions, U Street neighborhood, theatre and The Smithsonian. Located four blocks from The White House, a clear indication of our absolutely perfect location and there are two Metro stations within blocks of the hotel providing access to the entire region.
