Our Wedding Story:
Christin and I met almost 8 years ago while students at the University of Connecticut. I graduated a year before her and moved an hour and a half north to Boston, MA. We did the long distance thing for that year. After she graduated, she moved up to Boston and we lived with friends for the next few years. In September 2000, 4 days after our 4 year anniversary, we had a commitment ceremony on Cape Caod, where about 150 family members and friends attended to support us. It was great - we had a ceremony in a little chapel that was facilitated by one of our friends; took a limo to our reception site which was on the beach; had the reception under a tent... I wore a big white dress; Christin had on a tux. We cut our wedding cake and fed it to eachother. We exchanged rings engaved with the date and a sentiment.
Now, almost 4 years after our "original" wedding date, we cannot wait to make it legal on June 13th. We are getting married in Provincetown, where we got engaged about 5 years ago. It will just be me, Christin, and a Justice of the Peace. We are going for simple this time around. If it is nice out, we will be married on the beach at Race Point. If it rains, the JP said that she will marry us in her cozy living room. Either works for us. We are just happy to be able to get married and share in the benefits of our families, friends, and neighbors.
